Dear Runners

As you know we have strived to keep our race open. We’ve been working closely with the Snohomish County and other municipalities to follow all required policies for keeping people safe during these uncertain times. We have spent the last six months in heavy planning for this race, spending money on all of the accoutrements necessary to run the race, including spending extra money in the last few weeks to prepare for the extra steps necessary to ensure extra precautions were taken so that our small, family-oriented race could still take place.

Unfortunately, we got an email on Friday that took the decision out of our hands, so we are having to, like many other races, cancel our tenth annual Cupcake Run Weekend. As you can imagine this is a devastating turn of events for us as we have a charity who is depending on income from the race, and we’ve put in so much work to make a quality weekend of events for our runners.

Please understand, we are a very small, women-owned non-profit organization with a goal to raise money for individuals and small local charities in need. As such, we do not have the capacity to offer refunds for our races.

Instead we urge you to do a virtual run on your own or with a small group of friends. We will have medals available for pick up from 9:00 to 12:00 on March 28 at Jennings Memorial Park in Marysville, 6915 Armar Road, Marysville 98270. We are working with our cupcake bakers to have cupcakes available so we can sanitarily provide cupcakes to you, since that’s the best part of the race!

If you are out of area and would like your medal mailed to you please let us know as soon as possible. We will be mailing out medals the first week in April, so let us know by March 31.

We can also provide receipts for your donation to Running to Give as needed. Again, email us and we’ll email you a receipt.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding at this unprecedented time. We will let you know when our next race is open for registration!

Yours in running, peace, and love

Tory and Jacquie
